I'm thinking of purchasing a straight razor. After years of mach three and such, I'm tired of using a new blade twice and then throwing it away. At this pace, I could have purchased a fine quality straight blade. I've read that if properly cared for, they can last quite a long time. Thoughts?

the last time i got my hair cut the chick used a straight razor to shave my neck. that was pretty dope. try not to cut your throat off though cuz that would suck.
Ain't nuthin' like a straight razor shave. i got a really pretty, hollow-ground wide blade--and i love it; but i understand a narrower blade is easier to control. It takes practice to get good with 'em, and they're high maintenance. You gotta like the process. But they'll last forever if you take care of 'em...a good one you can pass down to yer children. And make sure you get a soap mug and a badger hair brush.
i was looking at dovo, a company outta germania. Probably like a 5/8 with a round edge. I heard the spike point can be lethal! What brand did you go with?
Hmmm, no dont do it! I have seen to many horror movies they are a acident waiting to happen. There is a reason why people do not use them nowadays.
