Meigh the thertieth

Well lads, I've taken a few weeks off. During which I tried my hardest to relocate my kidneys and spinal column. To no avail, I failed. Everything stayed in its same place! ha! The little incident did serve a greater purpose. I realized that I am bulletproof, so for my next stunt, I am going to climb the tower Burj Dubai! hahaha

I kid, I kid.

But seriously, I have had no more than 4 alcoholic beverages since that fateful friday 2.5 weeks ago. I got the results of my labs that evening, and my lipase was very high. We were nowhere near the level of intoxication that we are known for! It really brought me down to earth brothers. If it was this high with that little to drink and relatively good moderation over a 5 to 6 hour period... just imagine...

I am convinced that I avoided serious injury because I was in relatively good shape, thanks to Glenn and Kevin, even though I don't care for running... I am to the point where I am ready to dedicate a better part of each day becoming healthy... As soon as I am up to running again, I am going to continue running. I am going to start lifting again. I really do miss weights.

I think accountability is key here. Cody, Glenn, I love you like brothers. Lets take care of each other!!

Also, I applied for a flight nurse position yesterday. Keep your fingers crossed.

5/12-13/10

So last night was pretty uneventful... had a few lacerations to boot. Few lidocaine with epinepherine injections, a few sutures, some staples here and there. Not too terribly exciting, but not exactly dull.

I think the most exciting thing that happened today was that I again got electrocuted in my shower this afternoon getting ready for work. The dishwasher somehow keeps working itself outta ground, and then my fingertips pay for it whilst adjusting the shower head or faucet. I'm so ready to pay bills off and build a final place of residence it's just sad.

So tonight was a lazy evening. Lots of benign complaints... abd pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. My favorite is when someone complains of constant vomiting, you triage em, get em changed, and seen by doc.. the vomiting stops. We had a patient tonight that said she hasn't stopped vomiting since 2 p.m. She got here around 7p.m. and we took her upstairs about 11:45 p.m. Can you guess how many times she urfed here? 1

I think we should have flown her out. Bad joojoo that intractible vomiting...

I'm thinking of purchasing a straight razor. After years of mach three and such, I'm tired of using a new blade twice and then throwing it away. At this pace, I could have purchased a fine quality straight blade. I've read that if properly cared for, they can last quite a long time. Thoughts?

Sooo... Thats really about it. Im still trying to decide what I want to do now with the ol career. Nurse practitioner... nurse anesthetist... general laborer.. nah scratch that last one. I need a lot of prayers dudes. I still have a little confidence issue after getting canned from abilene. f_ck*rs..

It looks like everyone has taken to climbing again. Im ready to go, just need to get some angle iron and hang up my old hangboard. Until next time

Oh my lord friends... Its been 42 days. Good to see you. I'll share a story...

We were really busy yesterday... Sick people, it was rough. I got a txt during the controlled chaos from sandy. I expressed my concerns, and her simple yet effective reply was "Just do your best. In the end its not up to you."

That put a smile on my face. We wound up intubating the lady and got her pressure back up. When i left late last night, i was still bummed. My coach said what are you upset for? She's alive!

She was right! Paramedic wise, saves were few and far between. Last night feels pretty good. Thank you God!
